About Santa's Lost Reindeer - Girl Edition
Something crashes in the yard on Christmas Eve, the whole house freezes, and only your daughter can still move. Outside lies Santa's broken sleigh.
Santa's Lost Reindeer makes your daughter the girl who saves Christmas. Her name and face are in the story and the pictures, and she makes every call herself: which way to go, who to trust, and what to do when the ice starts to crack.
The adventure
Four reindeer have bolted into the night, and the sleigh has to be back in the air by midnight. Pepper, Santa's grumpy elf mechanic, will handle the broken runner. Finding Spark, Gale, Snowball and Thunder is up to her.
She picks where to start. The forest, where Spark's glowing antlers are caught in the thorns and a huge snore rumbles out of a cave. The town, where the carolers are one singer short and a frightened little reindeer is hiding in an old barn. Or the frozen lake, where a sly fox named Tricksy offers a shortcut across the ice, for a price.
Why she'll want to play it again
- Her choices shape the whole night. 67 sections and 10 endings, five of them different versions of Christmas, all the way up to the Best Christmas Ever with all four reindeer found.
- A backpack that really matters. Grandma's scarf can wrap Santa's sprained ankle, a wolf pup's paw or a torn harness strap, but only one of them. The handbell, the honey jar and the fisherman's long pole each solve a problem, if she has them at the right moment.
- Endings that invite another try. Reach Christmas without Thunder, and the book asks her: "But can you find the fourth reindeer too?"
- Gentle lessons, never scary ones. A wrong turn ends softly, with something worth knowing, like how to help someone who falls through the ice: call an adult, lie flat, and reach out with something long.
- Facts that feel like magic. Twelve "Did you know?" notes, including this one: female reindeer keep their antlers all winter, so the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh are most likely girls.
The heart of the story
Kindness carries her further than speed. She can stop to free a trapped wolf pup, help an old man get his Yule log into the fireplace, and, high above a sleeping town, pass her lucky pickle through a hospital window to Emma, a little girl who has to spend Christmas there. Santa says it best: "Reindeer know a kind heart."
A gift she'll remember
The toys will be forgotten by New Year's. The Christmas she saved herself won't be. Made for girls from 7 to 14, and a lovely gift for a daughter, granddaughter or goddaughter to play on Christmas Eve or over winter break.
A little tip: the best ending leaves a tiny silver bell under the tree with her name on it. Hide a real one and give it to her the day she finds that ending.

The questions parents ask first
Will the hero really look like my child?
You don’t have to take our word for it. Upload a photo and you’ll see your child as the hero before you pay anything. If the hero doesn’t look like them, we’ll redo it. If you’re still not happy, we refund you in full.
Do I have to approve anything?
Yes, and it is the best part of the deal. After you order, we draw two or three sample illustrations with your child in them and put them on your order page within 24 hours. You either approve them, or tell us what to change — we do not finish the book until you are happy. The finished book follows within 2–3 days of your approval.
What kind of photo works best?
Good light, the whole face visible, and the camera more or less straight on. A head-and-shoulders shot of one child beats a group photo taken from across the yard.
What happens to my child’s photo?
It’s used only to create the hero, nothing else. We delete the original photo from our storage once your book is finished. Orders must be placed by a parent or guardian, or with their permission.
How long does it take to create a book?
Ordering takes a couple of minutes: pick a story, upload a photo, and you see your child as the hero right away. Within 24 hours of your order we send you two or three sample illustrations to look at. Once you approve them, the finished book reaches your email within 2–3 days.
What ages are the books for?
Our books are written for children from 7 to 14.
