From one photo to a story they can’t put down

Here is exactly what happens between picking a story and your child reading it: what we need from you, what we do with it, and how long each part takes.

Five steps, start to finish

Ordering takes a couple of minutes. You approve the illustrations before anything is finalised, and the finished book follows within 2–3 days of that approval.

    One clear photo, their name and their age.

  3. Meet the hero — free

    See them on the cover before you pay a cent.

  4. Approve the artwork

    Sample illustrations within 24 hours. Nothing is finished until you say so.

    The finished book lands in your inbox. Every choice changes it.

Each book is a full adventure with branching paths and several endings — not one story with a name dropped into it. Every story comes in a boy and a girl edition, and the price sits on the card, so nothing changes later.

Step 2

Add your child

Upload one clear photo, then tell us the hero’s name and age. That is the whole form — there is nothing to install and nothing to design yourself.

  • One good photo is enough
  • The name goes on the cover and runs through the story
  • The age keeps the reading level where it should be
  • Your email, so the preview and the finished book can reach you

Step 3

Meet the hero — free

This is the part we would want as parents: before you pay anything, you see your child drawn as the hero of that story. If the face doesn’t look like them, you close the tab and it has cost you nothing.

  • The preview is free and takes about a minute
  • Try a different photo as many times as you like
  • If the hero doesn’t look like them, we redo it
  • If you’re still not happy after that, we refund you in full

Step 4

Approve the artwork

After you order, we draw two or three sample illustrations with your child in them and put them on your order page — within 24 hours. You look at them and say yes, or say what to change. We don’t finish the book until you’re happy.

Step 5

Play the story

Once you approve, we finish the book and send you a private link, usually within 2–3 days. Your child reads a page, makes a choice, and the story bends around it.

  • Every choice changes what happens next
  • Several endings, so the second read is a different story
  • The link stays yours; re-open it whenever they ask
The photo

How to pick the right photo

The photo decides how much the hero looks like your child. Four rules, and you’re done.

  1. Good light

    Daylight or a bright room. Dark and shadowy photos lose the details that make them look like them.

  2. Looking at the camera

    Straight on, or close to it, with the whole face visible.

  3. Nothing over the face

    No hats, sunglasses or masks. Everyday glasses are fine — we keep them.

  4. One child, up close

    A head-and-shoulders shot of one child beats a group photo from across the yard.

What happens to the photo. It is used to create your book and nothing else. We don’t share it, and we delete the original from our storage once the book is finished. Orders are placed by a parent or guardian, or with their permission.
